With racing underway on the SX “progression” track in Berlin, we asked Felicia Stancil to give us her thoughts on the track. We planned to include this in our Berlin preview article yesterday, but ran out of space. So, it makes it on today as a “Quick Hit”
Here’s what Felicia said about the track:
Today was the first practice session I had on the track.A lot of the foreign riders were practicing on this track for weeks but it was a first for most of the Americans.
My practice went really well even with the track being completely different then anything I’ve ridden before. The first straight feels like you’re in the X-Games with the wooden jumps and then the rest of the track feels similar to a dual slalom course.
All of the turns in the girls track are between 45-90 degrees, and it’s going to be completely different not racing with at least one full 180 degree turn. All of the speed from the first straight and the technical turns and jumps in the second straight will keep racing fun and interesting! I’m really excited for the race this weekend!
